Wildlife Naturalist
About Course
The wildlife naturalist MOOC is one of its kind courses having a comprehensive blend of aspects from botany and zoology. It consists of two components – learning about the fascinating large and small elements of nature and their interconnection with one another and experiencing some of the activities and daily experiences of a safari guide (at Ranthambore or Ghana or Kumbhalgarh, Rajasthan). It is a fascinating course having a vast amount of information about mammals, birds, reptiles, and invertebrates without ever having seen them. Every animal leaves some indication of its presence or passing whereby it can be recognized and then the “reconstruction” of what could have, would have, and should have happened. As a stepping-stone into the world of natural systems, diversity in subjects has been at the core of the course design. Candidates will be provided an introduction to the following subjects: Birds, Butterflies, Amphibians, Field guiding as a profession, Help creating guided nature experience, Techniques of Guiding, Reptiles, Trees, Mammals, Animal behavior, Conservation management, Tracks & Signs, Animal tracking and capturing wildlife in a lens
