Prof. (Dr.) Sambaditya Raj is presently serving as Professor, Deputy Director, and Head of Amity School of Fashion Technology, Rajasthan, India. His core domain is Textile Technology and he holds more than two decades of teaching and industrial experience in this field. Dr Raj also has more than 18 years of experience in academics and more than 5 years of industry experience in textile processing and quality control in renowned industries like Raymonds and Mayur. He has played a major role in suiting and shirting.
Dr Raj holds a PhD in Textile Design from Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, India. He has collaborated with various educational institutions, industries, and NGOs. Currently, other than contributing to teaching and research, he organises and coordinates various workshops, institutional events, courses like B.Des. and M.Des., as well as students’ placements and internships. Dr Raj is an active member of the Academic Council, Industrial Council, Research Council, Proctorial Board, etc., and has published more than 30 articles in various journals, conference proceedings, and Indyana Magazine, Netherlands. He has also edited a book and completed two major UGC research projects. He is also guiding research scholars on various innovative topics.
Other than his expertise in Textile Processing (dyeing, printing, finishing), Fashion Communication, Trend & Forecasting, Surface Design, Textile Testing & Quality Control, and Natural Dyeing, Dr Raj is also proficient in photography and documentary film making.
